Shelby and I have participated in a few fun on-line things over the last few years - the Cooking Light Virtual Supper Club and a giveaway or two together.
She began her blog as a way to keep a journal of her life for her kids and to keep family recipes in a safe place. It has certainly grown for her over the years! You can read more about her inspiration for starting her blog at her current post, which is for some really tasty little bites - Brie Popover Bites. When I saw her post I had to laugh a bit... because my recipe contribution is also a little bite of brie inside puff pastry!
We celebrated Hanukkah with the family last weekend and decided that a table loaded with appetizers was more appealing than a sit-down formal meal. Truth-be-told, I'm partial to picking at food all night long and enjoying the time with family, so this worked out beautifully! Of course, if anyone thought they were going to eat less as a result, they were sadly mistaken!
These brie bites were based on a recent post from Joy the Baker (gorgeous blog with amazing recipes!). I didn't put them on sticks because it would have been one more step to keep me from enjoying family. They were very easy to put together, but I needed to seal the sides better. Definitely, something I would make again to share... perhaps at the next Bunko game we have next week! I'm sure the ladies would enjoy these little bites!
Shelby wanted us to share a bit about someone who has inspired us in the kitchen. While I must say I am lucky to have many women in My Family (and My Husband's family) that are fabulous cooks, the one who I hope would be most proud of my cooking would be My Grandma. She passed away just over 10 years ago and often think of her when I am baking... especially, when I try to make pie crust! We spent an afternoon with her teaching me how to feel the dough and add just enough liquid so that it would come together before rolling it out. I still need to work on this skill, and she's never far from my thoughts on any given day... but, when I'm fighting with that rolling pin I know she's right behind me... encouraging me to keep working on it.
Happy 4th Blogiversary, Grumpy's Honeybunch!

I saw the Brie pops on Joys site too! It's hard to keep anything with Brie away from me. I can sniff it out from anywhere! Lol I love it! Thanks for joining in Patsy!
I love the appetizers on all of your blogs! My inspiration for most things in my life would be my Mother. I try to live my life like I think she would want me to even though she passed away almost 30 years ago. She tought me so much in a very short time.
These certainly look party ready!!
I actually made those brie pops on Christmas! My family ADORED them. And then asked me if I was vegan. I was very confused.
Puff pastry is just about the yummiest stuff! I need to try brie more, I think I only have maybe once!
My biggest inspiration is probably my mom!
My biggest inspiration right now is my boyfriend. He's a fantastic took, and is teaching me my way around the kitchen (I was kicked out of the kitchen at a young age, so I'm just learning how to cook now, at age 38!).
WOW they look fantastic!
I love cheesy, and these are love bites that I would not be able to resist. So delightful and tempting!
My inspiration is my daughter! She is 23... so smart and such a hard worker! She tries to eat healthy and takes good care of herself. chefl@swbell.net
These look amazing! I love them...
