Blogging it Forward with ShopRite
I am very happy to be participating in a campaign to fight hunger with ShopRite, General Mills and other Bloggers. There are so many families that go without food in order to cover other expenses. As we discovered last year in the Blogging Out Hunger Campaign, more and more families are having to look to local food pantries for assistance these days.
Here’s a little bit about what ShopRite’s program does:
“Since its founding in 1999, ShopRite Partners In Caring has donated $20 million to more than 1,400 charities, including emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, child care centers, battered women's shelters, senior citizen programs, drug rehab centers, programs for the mentally and physically disabled, after-school programs and other organizations that aid those in need.”
If you grocery shop at ShopRite, you can help them each time you shop for groceries when you purchase items marked with the special ShopRite Partners In Caring shelf tag , you’re supporting one of the 50-plus partner companies whose donations help more than 1,400 hunger-fighting charities in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware and Pennsylvania. It really doesn’t get easier than that.
With the support of more than 50 companies whose products range from cereal to salad dressings, toothpaste to tamales, pasta to pantyhose and just about everything in between, contributions add up quickly. And, because each of the 200 ShopRite uses its share of funds raised to support local charities, your purchases benefit the needy in your own community.
What can you do to help today? Leave a comment on this post and ShopRite and General Mills will donate a box of cereal to ShopRite’s Partners in Caring program to help those families who are struggling. The first 30 comments on this post will help 30 families eat breakfast! There are other bloggers participating, so if you happen to see other posts like this please leave a comment so that we can help more families start their day off right with a healthy breakfast.
So, please join in the fight against hunger and leave a comment on this post!
