Improving on a Classic Snickerdoodle

Not too long ago, I was desperately searching for cinnamon chips here in NJ. Of course, I didn't find them here... I snagged a bag from My Mom and now, I really have to find a local source! Once I got them, I tried to figure out the best way to use them. After reading another post on Snickerdoodles at Supermarket Serenade and a comment left by Recipegirl, I was inspired to add cinnamon chips to the Martha Stewart recipe I made earlier this year.

better snickerdoodles

Adding the cinnamon chips really made these the BEST Snickerdoodles E-V-E-R! The cinnamon flavor is not just from rolling the dough in it prior to baking, but also throughout the cookie. I loved the cookies the first time I made them, but these chips completely take the cookie to a whole new level of being irresistable. Which is why I froze them until it's time to share them with friends and neighbors.

This is a perfect Holiday Cookie, so I'm submitting it to Susan at Food Blogga's Eat Christmas Cookies event. The round-up is updated as new entries are submitted, so be sure to check it out over HERE. You'll want to check back regularly through December 21st so that you won't miss any of the wonderful holiday treats that will be shared throughout the next few weeks. I'm sure to gain 10 pounds just from looking, but oh it'll be fun to add more cookies and treats to my list!

Love the snickerdoodle. I don't know if it is the cookie or just saying the name - snickerdoodle.

I found your blog from Sophistimom.com. I have used cinnamon chips in my Snickerdoodles since I realized such a thing existed. I also put cinnamon and nutmeg (I'm a nutmeg addict) in the dough. It give a GREAT flavor. I haven't made any for over a year, but I have always ordered my chips from King Arthur, always a great source for hard to find items!
