Tasty Tidbits: Whole Grains

Since I've been trying to incorporate healthy options into each meal, I thought I'd share some of my favorite FamFriendsFood posts that incorporate whole grains, and some links to recipes I plan to try from a couple of my Pinterest boards.





Let's start with my first foray into using wheatberries!  A very
filling grain that pairs well with dried fruits or vegetables.  This dish was inspired by one that I found at my local grocery store - Wheatberry Salad with Cranberries.

Next, I experimented with a Bruschetta Wheatberry Salad... I really loved the flavors in this version.

For something a little different to pair with dinner, I made a Mushroom and Carmelized Onion Barley.  This reheats beautifully for lunch the next day.

This Warm Barley Salad has shredded Brussels sprouts in it and is a lovely accompaniment to London broil or steak that has been grilled.
