Blogger Thanksgiving & Shutterfly

Thanksgiving is a time to share not only with family, but also with friends.  We managed to have an early dinner with friends and then, I had the pleasure of sharing another Blogger Thanksgiving with some lovely ladies on Saturday night.

It was such a great night to sit down to a meal with Cate, Sarah and Joanne!  We had a houseful of kids running around and they seemed to really enjoy playing together {bonus!}.

With the holiday season upon us and the time to create the most fabulous holiday cards to send out, it seemed fitting that Shutterfly sponsored our meal.  Have you started looking for your #cardworthy photo yet?  I know I keep "the" photo in the back of mind throughout the year as I take photos of the kids doing different things.

What better way to enjoy a table full of desserts than talking about the new photo card options that Shutterfly now offers?  The quality of the matte cards was much nicer than the traditional photo paper stock most places offer.  There are also a variety of card options from photo collages to one that allowed space for a short story to update family and friends on the past year.

Some tips for getting a #cardworthy photo:

  • Make it personal - it should reflect your family's personality
  • Add some humor to the card - perhaps a silly photo taken and a family picnic or party
  • Snap a lot of photos - you never know when that perfect expression will appear on their faces!

I bet you are wondering what we all brought to the dessert table that night!  It was a table filled with amazing desserts that were inspired by the season!

It may be a blessing that the gathering was not bigger because it was hard to resist each of the desserts!  The first one you see in the photo above was Joanne's pumpkin bread pudding... which was so moist and full of fall flavor!

Sarah brought these incredible peppermint bark cookies that were so moist and cake-like!  I'm thinking they may have to be added to my baking list this year!

Then, there was Cate's caramel cheesecake!  Completely drool-worthy... and worth every single calorie it had in it!

What did I bring?  Well, I didn't even decide until the day of our get-together what I was bringing!  I went in search of something that would have pumpkin in it on Pinterest and found a perfect recipe that was from Kristen of Dine and Dish... she had shared it with I Am Baker back in 2011.  I can't believe I missed it back then!

Let's just say I think I've found my new favorite Thanksgiving dessert!  The flavor of pumpkin is not overpowering, but it's enough to satisfy that fall flavor craving.  So moist and a nice change from the usual pies that often hit the dessert table.

The recipe can be found at the I Am Baker link shown above... go there, you WILL want this recipe!
