After what seemed like the longest day of work ever... I got home and still needed to make dinner. Luckily, I had picked up some pre-cut stir-fry beef strips when I did the shopping last weekend, and some pre-cut broccoli. All I needed was the Beef and Broccoli seasoning packet from Sun-Bird.
Just add some water and soy sauce to the seaonings and let it sit while you get everything else going in a wok or a large skillet. I made some brown rice to go along with this quick and easy meal because I'm working on getting us to eat more whole grains.
This is a simple way to make some Chinese food at home, and you could easily take advantage of the other seasoning blends to throw your own Chinese New Year party! Just add some fun decorations - make sure to include the color red because of the good luck it's supposed to bring - add some friends and you've got a great celebration.
There are some great websites with crafts you can do for the Year of the Dragon. There is a really cute dragon puppet project on on Family Fun that the kids would have a blast making for the big party.
