Hurry Up, Breakfast! {Eggo Drizzlers}

Mornings can be a bit hectic in my house... by the time I'm ready to head downstairs to pack lunches for the day (I know, I should do it the night before), I get a couple of hungry boys making requests for something to eat.

This is were I admit freely that I rely on convenience foods.  I wish I had the time on a weekday to make a homemade breakfast for My Boys before they head off to summer camp (or to school) for the day.   I need super fast and easy, and Eggo waffles have been a staple in my freezer for quite a few years.  Even before My Boys were born, I was a fan of the whole wheat waffles.

Eggo Drizzlers
When I was contacted to see if we'd like to try out their latest product, Eggo Drizzlers, I knew I had a couple of boys who would be happy to let them know what they think of them.

The waffles in these packages are the plain (aka: original) flavor, so the packet of blueberry or strawberry topping is where you'll find the "pop" of flavor in this product.

Simple as the other Eggo waffles, a little bit of time in the toaster to heat them while the packet of topping sits in a dish of hot water... and breakfast is ready in minutes.

What was the verdict according to my taste testers?

  • If you opt to have 3 waffles, one packet of topping is "not enough".  I have one bigger breakfast eater so, he often chooses more than the typical serving for breakfast.
  • They taste pretty good and you have to make sure that you let the topping sit in the hot water while the waffles are toasting... otherwise, you get ice crystals in it.  (That was my fault for not reading the instructions all the way through the first time we made them).
  • Easy enough that my 9 and 11 year old boys can make these themselves and drizzle the topping on top just the way they want it.

Overall, they both gave these a thumb's up, so it looks like I'll be adding these to my grocery list!

Note:  We were provided with product samples in order to review this new product.  All opinions are my own (or my boys).
