Restaurant Review: Mike and Ronda's The Place in Phoenix, Arizona

Wow, life has certainly been busy since we got back from our fabulous vacation in August!  I can't believe I haven't had time to share some of the fabulous food we enjoyed while we were away... but, now I'm going to begin getting caught up!

The first leg of our trip was to Phoenix, where we were visiting family AND I finally got the chance to meet Janet who writes LaDue and Crew in person!  We've been chatting via Facebook, Twitter and text messages for so long it was inevitable that we would meet when we made our plans to travel to Phoenix.

Of course, what do food bloggers who are going to meet for the first time do?  Well, in this case we went out for breakfast with our families!  Soon as Janet and I were in the same room, it was like being with a friend we had known forever.  We didn't stop talking long enough to get a photo of us together!  Next time, we'll change that for sure!  Janet is one of the most genuinely sweet people I've met and it's no wonder we hit it off so well before eve meeting in person.  I can't wait until the next time we are in Phoenix so we can spend time together again... this time maybe she can show me some cake decorating tricks (hint! hint!)!

After some back-and-forth messages between Janet and My Sis-in-Law, it was decided we would go to "The Place" for breakfast.  An interesting yet, vague sounding name for a restaurant.  But, it seems that many people are very familiar with Mike and Ronda's The Place on Bell Road

The pricing is reasonable for some very generous portions.  If you are in the Phoenix area, plan to go here VERY HUNGRY!  The menu has many of the traditional breakfast items and Janet was being so healthy she stuck with the oatmeal and fruit cup (and probably was the only one not wishing she had an elastic waist-band when we finished!)... the rest of us indulged in what seemed to be traditional Southern or Mid-Western breakfast fare.

The potatoes were so flavorful with just the right amount of crispiness to them that My Oldest ended up eating most of mine!

Oh, and those biscuits were something to enjoy... with some of that gravy (just needed a tad bit of salt added to it).  Something I always like to indulge in when I'm on vacation, so this was a perfect way to start the day for me.

Check out what everyone else enjoyed:

As hard as I tried, I couldn't find a website for this fabulous breakfast restaurant... so, I'll just share their location and phone number.  Seriously, go check it out if you are in Phoenix, it's a breakfast that will get your day off to a great start!

I'm sorry we missed you this time as well... we'll be back next year for my nephew's bar mitzvah, so hopefully, we can get together during that trip. I'll let you know when that is once it gets a bit closer. :)

Mike & Rhonda's started in Flagstaff. There are still two in Flagstaff. The prices are the same as in Phoenix (I think), and the portions just as big. (Just for your readers' information. :) )
