S'Mores Stuffed Brownies from Picky Palate
Summertime... it truly is my favorite time of year. You are not likely to hear me complain about the heatwaves that we get each summer because I know in just a few short months we'll be bundling up and finding excuses to stay home and hibernate under blankets.
One of the best parts of summer is hanging out with friends and having barbecues or any old excuse to get together. I'm always ready to jump in and offer to bring a dessert... as any long-time readers will attest, it is my favorite thing to make if given a choice. Maybe I was a baker in a former life? Who knows!
I've been meaning to share the S'mores Brownies that I made a few weeks ago, but I've just been trying to soak up every moment of summer and kick back and relax whenever possible. Time has flown by in the meantime, and I didn't want to postpone sharing these ah-mazing brownies with you!
I wish I could say that these decadent brownies were my own creation, but they aren't... they come from the fabulous Jenny who writes Picky Palate . She's also the author of a cookbook by the same name and it's a gorgeous cookbook with photos to accompany nearly every recipe. I've been a fan of Jenny's since her early days of blogging and can attest that her recipes are fail-proof!
When we were invited to a friend's house for a barbeque, I knew I'd want to use one of Jenny's dessert recipes because she has a knack for creating sweet treats that no one can resist... at least no one who loves chocolate, that is!
The recipe calls for baking in an 8x8 pan, but I wanted to double it... not being sure if it would still bake up the same, I reached out to her and she responded quickly to tell me that she doubles it all the time. Which was great news because I don't think an 8x8 would have satisfied the crowd I served them to!
I'm all about chocolate, and these bake up using boxed brownie mix which happens to be nice and fudgey (my kind of brownie)... then add to them Hershey bars, marshmallows and graham crackers... and, let's just say these are seriously dangerous and you may want to add an extra workout in the day you share these so you can enjoy guilt-free!
