Inspired, but not quite what I had hoped for...

Well, as I have said before, I'm even going to share the dishes that didn't go as planned. Well, tonight was one such night. I had what seemed like a pretty decent plan. I had some pork chops that needed to be used, so after speaking to my Husband on the phone it was decided to bread them and then pan fry them. The idea was good, however, it would have worked better if they were thinner chops or if the plan had been to finish baking them in the oven. I don't usually pan fry anything, so this was a new thing for me... and the problem with this cooking method and the thickness of the chops was that in order to try to get them fully cooked inside, they were over-cooked on the outside. Not exactly appetizing. So, we chalk that one up to a learning experience.

The other new dish I tried, I found on another blog recently. It was spaghetti with a bit of a twist. I think the recipe is a good one, however, I knew a pound of pasta for us was going to be too much and I reduced that part of the recipe without remembering to scale the rest of the ingredients down. Well, let's just say the pasta was overwhelmed by breadcrumbs! I may try it again, but with scaling it down accordingly. Again, another learning experience tonight!

So, tonight I am 0 for 2! At least my stats aren't bad overall... one bad dish here and there and I can say I come away from it with more knowledge for the next time around.

I also want to mention a new addition to my sidebar. I have joined the Foodie Blogroll! Scroll on down and see what other fantastic food blogs are out there for the reading!

Thanks for the welcome! I figure if I share the good and bad, I can go back and figure out how to do things better next time.
